After its unveiling during the Monterey Car Week in August, BMW has brought the Z4 roadster back with a new design and chassis – the latter being co-developed with Toyota. The two-seater is available with three engine options, with the top-end M40i model developed by BMW’s M Performance division. The Z4 is also fitted with BMW’s latest operating software, which runs on the infotainment system and digital instrument display faster than any other system before it. The new soft-top convertible goes on sale during the show, with deliveries beginning in 2019.

As the pinnacle of the current M5 range, the Competition is an impressive piece of kit that comes with exclusive features to set it apart from the standard M5. Including a model-specific exhaust system, custom engine mounts and lightweight 20-inch alloy wheels, the Competition is also about lightness and high-end performance and with a 24bhp advantage over the standard model, its 0-60mph time is reduced to just 3.1 seconds. Priced from £96,205, it’s not cheap, but it is rather impressive to say the least.
