The SP38 is based on the 488 GTB and comes with a unique body that has been built for one of the brand’s ‘most dedicated customers’.

Ferrari has revealed the latest car from its One-Off programme, with this new model taking inspiration from one of the brand’s most famous creations.

According to the Italian brand, the person receiving the SP38 is “one of Ferrari’s most dedicated customers,” and is one that has “a deep passion for racing”.

The Ferrari Design Centre made this car to be suited to both road and track, and after a ceremonial handover, the SP38 was put through its paces at the Fiorano test circuit with a set of hot laps.

The new body shell includes the wedge-like design of the F40 as well as the famous model’s rear spoiler, which melds in with the rear louvres on the back section of the car.

Ferrari also designed new headlights especially for this car, with the set of thinner units fitting into the wheel arches – while the daytime running lights have also been moved.

To help this model be truly unique, Ferrari also fitted a tailor made cabin to complete the overall look.

The SP38 will get its first public appearance at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este on 26 May on the shores of Lake Como, Italy.
